How we work

Embedded, not outsourced

We don't disappear into a Slack channel and email a deliverable in six weeks. We sit in your standups, ship in your repo, and account for our work the way an in-house team would.

The engagement model

A pod, not a vendor

You hire a pod scoped to the work, typically 1–4 senior practitioners across the disciplines you need, for a fixed monthly engagement. We invoice flat, plan in two-week cycles, and show up in your tooling on day one.

Cadence

Two-week cycles

Plan Monday, ship continuously, review on the second Friday. Predictable rhythm, no surprises at quarter-end.

Pricing

Flat monthly retainer

One number per month per pod member. No hourly billing games, no scope-change paperwork for small asks.

Footprint

Inside your stack

Your Slack, your Jira/Linear, your repo, your Figma. We don't run a parallel project. We run yours.

From hello to embedded

Four weeks, four steps

From an intro call to your first PR merged. The path looks like this every time.

Week 0

Intro & brief

30-minute call. We learn what's stuck, what's been tried, and what success looks like in 90 days.

Week 1

Scoping memo

A short written proposal. Pod composition, cycle plan, and the line items that make us walk away.

Week 2

Onboarding

Access, accounts, and a context sprint. We read what you've built before we touch it.

Week 3+

Shipping

First PR merged. First experiment live. The team starts feeling slightly larger, slightly faster.

What you get

A team you forget isn't yours

  • A senior practitioner per discipline. No juniors hiding behind a senior name on the SOW
  • Weekly written status, monthly review, quarterly roadmap revisit
  • Shared dashboards and metrics owned by us, visible to you
  • Code, designs, accounts, documentation. All yours, always
  • An off-ramp at any cycle boundary, no kill fees
What we ask

A real seat at the table

  • An internal sponsor who can unblock access and decisions in under 48 hours
  • A defined definition of done before we start, not negotiated mid-sprint
  • Honest data. Even when the numbers are embarrassing
  • The freedom to push back when the brief is wrong
  • Credit, when it's due, in the room
Five principles Every engagement, every pod, every cycle
01.

Senior people, on the actual work

No bait-and-switch. The person on the intro call is the person in your repo.

02.

Written before spoken

If it matters, it's in a doc. If it's in a doc, it's been argued with first.

03.

Measurable, or we don't ship it

Every initiative gets a metric we'd defend in front of your CFO.

04.

Hand back better than we found it

Documentation, tests, runbooks. The team should be more capable when we leave.

05.

Say no, in writing, when the brief is wrong

A consultant who agrees with everything is a contractor with worse pricing. We will tell you what we'd do instead, and why, and we'd rather lose the engagement than lose your trust.
